Born an only child to a wealthy family, Mika never lacked for anything. Her father spent most of her life away on business, and returned home to make it up to her with extravagant gifts and vacations to exotic places. Her mother was nominally a house-wife, but was more of a socialite than anything, which left Mika in the tender care of perpetually bemused maids. She had etiquette classes, ballet lessons, went to the best school-- everything one would expect of a girl from such a family. She had the best things money could buy and knew her way around both fashion and the fashionable, but she never quite fit in with that society. She was too carefree, in the way that wasn't becoming of young ladies. It was the mark of a wild spirit, one that made her mother purse her lips in vexation and her father smile when he called her his little princess.

An excellent, if not entirely devoted, student of academia, Mika's real interests lay in other directions: ballet and tinkering. Ballet was encouraged even after most other girls dropped out, but the tinkering was not except when her father was home. Many children have an interest in taking things apart, but Mika was more fascinated in putting things together. A stylish Tokyo apartment isn't the place to build a trebuchet, but who could blame her for trying?

She had a wide circle of friends, mostly made up of people she knew to keep close rather than real companions. Actual friends, not just a societally-savvy network, were few and far between.

As of late the irrepressible girl has mellowed into a sly, cock-sure demeanor. She's good at what she does and she knows it, though when the good cheer and raw talent turned into smirking confidence is anyone's guess.
